Jens Ingvald Andresen was apprentice at the workshop to Hjortdahl & Meldahl from 1915 to 1919. He stayed with the firm until 1931 when Meldahl left to form his own company.
Andresen followed Meldahl and continued to work for him until 1936.
It was during 1936 that Andresen completed his journeyman's piece and was officially licensed. At this time he and a companion co-founded a separate silver enamel workshop and called it Andresen & Scheinpflug.
The workshop began life at Vognmannsgt. 8 in Oslo, but later moved to Storgt. 7.
The business was closed in 1966.
