Olaf Georg Balle

From1912 to 1917 Olaf G.Balle was a apprentice at goldsmith Gustav Hellstrom.
He took his journeymans pecializing in the craftsmanship of spoons and received his craft certificate in 1918. In 1937 he started a craft shop and later a store in Pedersgate in Stavanger. When he died in 1964, his widow kept on running the company. It was later moved to Øvre Holmegate, where it closed down in 1979.

The son Øystein Balle received his craft certificate in Stavangerin 1953, and the same year he started his own craft shop right behind his father's store in Pedersgate24. In the late 50’s he moved the craft shop to Pedersgate 51. He took over some of the production equipment from G. Hellstrom such aspresses and cutters.The craft shop moved yet again in 1962/63 and was shut down in the early 1980s.
Øystein Balle was well known for his creative enamel jewelry, which is highly sought after in today's auction market.
